When it comes to negotiating a flexible work schedule as a SAP professional in Germany, there are several tips that I would advise you to keep in mind during the job offer process.

It´s an important topic I wanted to address, as when we surveyed our SAP network, flexible working was identified as the most important factor when selecting a new job opportunity. (Full insights here)

Firstly, it´s crucial to do your research on the company's policies and culture regarding flexible working. This information can often be found on their website, or if you partner with a recruiter, we can tell you this information upfront. This will help you gauge their openness to such arrangements and inform your negotiation strategy.

During the interview and recruitment process, make sure to express your interest in flexible working arrangements. Highlight how it aligns with your work-life balance needs and how it can positively impact your productivity and overall job satisfaction. Emphasize the benefits that come with flexibility for both you and the employer.

When discussing the job offer, be prepared to provide specific details about the type of flexibility you are seeking. Whether it's flexible hours, remote working options, or a combination of both, clearly communicate your preferences while being open to compromise.

Lastly, be prepared for potential pushback from employers who may have concerns about managing remote teams or maintaining communication. Address these concerns proactively by offering solutions such as regular check-ins via video conferencing tools or providing examples of how you have effectively collaborated remotely in the past.

Remember that negotiation is a two-way street. Be willing to listen and find mutually beneficial solutions that address both parties' needs.
