This full-time freelance position plays a critical role in assessing and improving cybersecurity, automation maturity, and technology lifecycle management across our global manufacturing sites.

The ideal candidate has a holistic understanding of OT cybersecurity and industrial automation, and is capable of evaluating factories against internal and international technical standards, identifying gaps, draft roadmap and guiding factories toward compliance and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Ø Automation systems obsolescence (hardware and software lifecycle, vendor support, risk level)

Provide comprehensive, site-specific support and recommendations for remediation, modernization, and risk reduction.

Analyze and consolidate technical data from factory systems, interviews, and documentation.

Maintain a centralized repository of assessment results, gaps, compliance status, and follow-up actions (SharePoint, Excel, internal tools).

Demonstrated ability to engage and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders, including engineering managers and site directors.

Collaborate with internal teams (Cybersecurity, IT/OT, Engineering) to align on expectations, findings, and strategic actions.

Independently plan and manage travel to factories (~50% of the time), ensuring efficient use of time and resources.

Required Qualifications

7+ years of experience in industrial automation, OT cybersecurity, or engineering roles within manufacturing.

Solid and holistic knowledge of:

Ø Industrial control systems (ICS) - PLC, SCADA, HMI, DCS, etc.

Ø OT network architecture, segmentation, and industrial protocols (Modbus, Profinet, Profibus, EthernetIP, etc.)

Ø Cybersecurity controls and frameworks (IEC 62443, NIST CSF, ISO 27001)

Ø Automation and cybersecurity compliance auditing based on internal or external technical specifications

Ø Obsolescence/lifecycle management for industrial hardware/software

Excellent organizational skills and ability to track and manage technical data from multiple sites.

Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with local teams, vendors, and global functions.

High level of autonomy: able to self-manage workload, priorities, travel, and reporting.
