The Southern, French city of Toulouse is a maze of medieval lanes and elegant structures to explore. Built with red bricks that were once a sign of poverty, the beautiful buildings are now a source of great pride for the City. Throughout the day, these bricks can change colours depending on the sunlight - from red to orange to rose in the evening, earning Toulouse the nickname “La Ville Rose”, “The Pink City”.
From a fragment of the True Cross to the final resting place of over 100 saints, including the great theologian Thomas Aquinas, the city of Toulouse is drenched in religious artifacts and rich history.
Despite its historical structures, Toulouse is also a modern city. Delving into a new frontier, it is the centre of the European aerospace industry. Housing headquarters for Industry giants such as Airbus (formerly EADS), SPOT satellite system and the Aerospace Valley.
